What is Microneedling?

If over-the-counter skin care products are no longer proving effective, but you aren't ready for surgery, try nonsurgical treatments to rejuvenate the skin, such as microneedling. Microneedling is a popular treatment when looking for smooth, firm, youthful-looking skin and is often used to treat lines and wrinkles, scars, and enlarged pores. Our team is pleased to perform microneedling at our office in Boston, MA. At iContouer Anti-Aging Center, we offer two forms of microneedling, radiofrequency microneedling, utilizing Accent Prime, PixelRF, and Dermatude Meta Therapy. Our microneedling treatments trigger the natural production of collagen and elastin, two nutrients that naturally increase the appearance and health of the complexion. Microneedling can also be performed with other skin treatments, such as vitamin serums or PRP (platelet-rich plasma), for enhanced results. Make an appointment at iContour Anti-Aging Center in Boston, MA, to learn more about the benefits of our microneedling techniques and how you can customize the procedure for your skin needs and goals.

What Can I Expect from RF Microneedling?

RF microneedling treatments are performed inside our upscale office using a topical numbing cream to help you remain comfortable. During your treatment, we'll have you lie back comfortably in one of our treatment chairs while we clean your skin and prepare for your procedure. From there, we'll pass either the Alma Accent Prime or PixelRF handheld device over your skin. The device will emit heat through the needles of the device that will cause small micro-injuries in the skin (the process of microneedling). Together, the heat and skin disruption will prompt collagen growth and the body's natural healing process. The length of treatment will vary based on your particular needs but typically last around an hour. We may suggest follow-up treatments to help you reach your desired goals. You will experience some redness and swelling, but this typically fades in about two days. You may notice some results immediately, but you will see continued results over the next month or so as the collagen and elastin production continues.

What Can I Expect from Dermatude Meta Therapy?

Dermatude Meta Therapy is a unique form of microneedling that is used to provide similar results to that of RF microneedling to restore the skin from the inside out. When receiving microneedling with Dermatude Meta Therapy, you can expect a multi-step cleansing process, where we will apply healing serums to the face and treatment areas, as well as a customized serum based on your skin's needs. From there, we'll pass the Dermatude Meta Therapy device over your skin. Utilizing unique Flex Head technology, this treatment ensures all of your skin gets the correct penetration depth depending on the shape of the treatment area while creating near-invisible micro-perforations to the skin. Like RF microneedling, this will prompt the body's natural healing process and collagen and elastin growth. After your treatment, you may have some slight redness and swelling, but this will subside in a day or so. You can often see some form of results almost immediately, but we suggest receiving about four treatments spaced 4 – 6 weeks apart for optimal results.
